Brendan McIlhargey grew up in a small town called Woking in Surrey where he still lives. He studied at Saint John the Baptist School till the age of 16 where he left to join Brooklands Technical College studying a BTEC First Diploma in Art and Design where he began his love affair with photography. He then moved to Farnham Art College finishing a National Diploma in Art and Design. With the knowledge gained from various fields in art and design he took his creative flair to Guildford and begun a course purely based around photography a BTEC National Diploma. Finally finishing his studies in Newcastle Art College with a Higher National Diploma in Photography.
After leaving college be started to assist various professional photographers around the UK in the advertising, commercial and fashion fields. Where he gained valuable experience before going it alone and becoming a professional photographer in his own right.
